Built for item tables
Invoices usually draw a grid around the items. The grid lines are used to find the cells, so a description that wraps onto two lines stays in one cell. HSN and SAC codes are kept as text so no digit is lost.
Sub-total, CGST, SGST, IGST, discount and grand total lines below the grid are placed under the Amount column with their label beside them.
Checks that catch mistakes
A line that fails a check is coloured red with the reason, which catches typing mistakes in the invoice itself as well as misread digits.
- Quantity × rate must equal the amount on every line.
- The sub-total must equal the sum of the items.
- The grand total must equal the lines above it (sub-total plus tax, less discount).
Questions
Can I convert many invoices?
Yes, one file at a time, as often as you like. A PDF that holds several invoices is converted into one table per invoice.
Are amounts real numbers in Excel?
Yes. Amounts with ₹, commas or /- become numbers with a matching format, ready for SUM and pivot tables.
