Works with the statement your bank gives you
Statements downloaded from net banking - SBI, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Kotak, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, PNB, Union Bank and others - are PDFs with the text inside, and convert in seconds. Older statements that were printed and scanned are read with OCR.
Password-protected statements must be opened first: open the PDF with its password, print it to a new PDF ("Save as PDF"), and convert that copy.
What you get in Excel
- One table for the whole statement, even when it runs over many pages - the heading appears only once.
- Long UPI, NEFT and IMPS narrations that wrap onto two lines stay in one cell.
- Dates such as 05-10-2026, 05 Oct 2026 or 05/10/26 become real Excel dates.
- Amounts such as 1,23,456.78, 1,200/- and (500.00) become real numbers you can add up.
- Cheque and reference numbers keep their leading zeros.
- "Balance brought forward" and "carried forward" lines are kept apart, so they are not counted as transactions.
The balance check
For each row the converter checks that the balance equals the previous balance plus the credit minus the debit. A row that does not follow is coloured red with the expected value, so a misread digit cannot slip into your accounts unnoticed.
Questions
Is it safe to convert my bank statement here?
Yes. The conversion runs inside your browser. The statement is not uploaded to this site or anywhere else, so nobody else sees your transactions.
Can I convert a statement of many months?
Yes. Up to 100 pages per file are converted into one continuous table.
My balances show Dr and Cr. Can Excel use them?
Yes. Tick "Balances written with Dr / Cr" in the checklist after converting: Dr becomes a negative number and Cr a positive one.
