CSV that imports cleanly
- Amounts such as 1,23,456.78 or (500) are written as 123456.78 and -500, so no program misreads the commas.
- Dates are written as 2026-10-05, which every spreadsheet and database reads the same way.
- Codes with leading zeros (004512) and long account numbers are kept exactly as printed.
- The file is UTF-8 with a byte-order mark, so Excel shows ₹, Hindi, Telugu and other scripts correctly.
One CSV per table
CSV holds a single table, so a PDF with several tables gives several CSV files, named after each table. A table that runs over many pages is still one file. If you prefer one file with several sheets, download the Excel workbook instead - both are offered after converting.
Questions
What is the difference between CSV and Excel?
CSV is plain text with one table and no formatting - ideal for importing into other software. An Excel file can hold several sheets, colours and number formats.
Can I open the CSV in Excel?
Yes. Double-click it, or use Data > From Text/CSV for full control over the columns.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
Yes. Pages that are pictures are read with OCR in 45 languages before the CSV is written.
