PDF to Google Sheets

Google Sheets cannot open a PDF table directly. Convert the PDF to an Excel file here - with real numbers and dates - and import it into Sheets, where every column works with formulas and filters.

Remove repeated rows?

Exact repeats are left out and listed on a "Removed rows" sheet.

Scanned pages (OCR)

Only pages that are pictures are read with OCR (recommended).

Import into Google Sheets in two steps

Each table becomes its own sheet tab. Amounts stay numbers, so SUM, QUERY and pivot tables work immediately.

  • Convert your PDF above and download the Excel (.xlsx) file.
  • In Google Sheets choose File > Import > Upload, pick the file, and choose "Insert new sheet(s)" or "Replace spreadsheet".

Why not copy and paste?

Pasting from a PDF puts whole lines into single cells, splits wrapped text into extra rows and turns numbers into text. Converting first keeps the rows and columns of the original table.

Questions

Can I import a CSV instead?

Yes. Choose "or download CSV" after converting, and import it the same way. Use Excel when the PDF has several tables, so they arrive as separate tabs.

Do I need a Google account to convert?

No. The conversion happens on this page. You only need Google to open Sheets.
